What were your summers like when you were a kid? You probably went outside. Talked to people. Made new friends and reconnected with old ones. Now? Now, kids are captured by screens, their conversations happen over headset, and their “friends” are random people online.
Kids, especially boys, just don’t socialize like they used to. Now, parents have to be intentional about getting their kids out, meeting real people, and learning how to be social. (We all know how important it is to learn to work well with others!) So what’s a parent to do?
That’s where we come in. At Learning Lab, we have over 34 years’ experience working with kids with all kinds of needs, including the need to practice social skills. Throughout June and July, Learning Lab will be hosting structured game nights for middle and elementary school boys. Led by our behavior specialist, our team of educators will get your kids talking and interacting with other boys their age, making friends in real life, and honing the social skills they will need to be happy and successful down the road. This program is ideal for boys who may lag behind in social skills or have insecurities when it comes to relating to others.
