For many students a grasp of specific academic subjects isn’t the issue.

One child looks around the classroom and recognizes order, sequence and agendas quickly and easily. Another child recognizes no order and feels out of place – always a few steps behind.

Some students have an extensive vocabulary, readily absorb new information and participate in high-level discussions. But ask them to write down what they know, and suddenly there’s a disconnect.

Still others lack the speed to get things done quickly in the classroom or at home. A task or assignment that should have taken minutes may take hours.

Learning Lab can help determine the source of such problems, whether it’s slow “processing” speed, distractedness, giftedness, inattention or even depression.
