Three FREE Parenting Seminars in October and November will help parents understand change their kids are going through, how to manage their behavior at home and collaborate effectively with their teachers at school. 

David Elkins, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist and Director of the Assessment Center at Learning lab, and Learning Lab Director Pat elkins will lead all three sessions.

All sessions will be at Pediatric Associates of Franklin, 570 Bakers Bridge Avenue, Franklin, TN 37064.

In unique arrangement, Learning Lab will share space with Pediatric Associates so a wide range of needs can be met

FRANKLIN, TN (April 7, 2011) – Learning Lab, a Brentwood tutoring and educational assessment company, is opening a location at the offices of Pediatric Associates of Franklin in Cool Springs so that a full range of services can be offered to students.

The Learning Lab location at the offices of Pediatric Associates of Franklin at 570 Bakers Bridge Avenue in Cool Springs will have private offices offering tutoring as well as assessment services that can help identify a wide range of learning needs, from giftedness to ADHD and dyslexia.

“This is a unique arrangement that brings together the deep expertise and caring services provided by organizations that are both tops in their fields in Williamson County,” said Pat Elkins, Director of Learning Lab of Brentwood. “We expect that the Cool Springs location will make our services more accessible to some families.”

Learning Lab has been providing tutoring and assessment services in Brentwood for 25 years, while Pediatric Associates of Franklin has been providing medical care for more than 30 years. Pediatric Associates of Franklin includes seven pediatricians and a nurse practitioner in its practice. The two organizations will remain as separate businesses.

“We believe that our co-operative arrangement will benefit families by providing comprehensive services at one location,” said Tim Carr, M.D., Managing Partner of Pediatric Associates of Franklin.

“By providing this unique model of pediatric medical services combined with tutoring and counseling in one setting we can serve the community in a way that is unique to medical practices. Feedback from parents indicates that it is an easy transition because the children are already so comfortable with a familiar pediatric environment,” said Carol Hawkins, FACMPE, Administrator of Pediatric Associates of Franklin. 

Assessments at the Learning Lab office will be provided by David Elkins, a Ph.D. clinical psychologist as well as other Learning Lab diagnosticians. 

The new Learning Lab office opened April 1. Learning Lab will also continue to provide tutoring, assessment and home school services at its offices in Brentwood and Green Hills. Learning Lab develops a customized learning program for each student and much of the instruction is delivered one-on-one.
