For over 20 years we have been on the path of continuous improvement with the goal to deliver the best tutoring services in Middle Tennessee. We are professionals who take our mission very seriously.
We believe that the relationship between tutors and their students affects the learning process. Therefore, we carefully select tutors who compliment the personalities, strengths, and weaknesses of our clients.
While The Learning Lab feels one-on-one instruction is the preferred method, we also offer small-group instruction in some areas where this approach will prove beneficial.
The Learning Lab is located in Maryland Farms across the street from the Maryland Farms YMCA. Our 5000 square foot location is convenient to nearby shopping and banking. We provide both private and semi-private offices for one-on-one tutoring and classrooms to accommodate groups and classes. All tutoring areas have access to internet connected computers. Parental approval is required for computer/internet use. Distractions are minimized in a controlled environment. Students receiving tutoring benefit from being in a class of one. Errors and inefficiencies can be quickly corrected. New strategies can be introduced, practiced and tracked to measure progress and direct future successes.
At the end of every session, the tutor sends a “Notes Home”—either manually or electronically to the parent summarizing objectives, progress and “next step” activities to reinforce and extend learning.
Parents conference with the tutor at the beginning of every year and throughout the tutoring commitment to assure clear communication regarding goals and progress.
Tutoring can also be arranged at schools, libraries, and homes.
